What we believe

Articles of faith:

1.The Bible

We believe that the Bible consists of 66 books comprising the Old and New Testaments. It is the inspired Word of God and no person may add to or subtract there from.

2. The Trinity

We believe that the Godhead exists in three persons, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.  We also believe that these three are one God, the same in essence, equal in power and glory.

(Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. The Church

We believe that Jesus Christ established the Church on this earth. We further believe that the Church consists only of those persons who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and made a new creation in Christ Jesus.

(Matthew 16:18, 1 John 5:6-13, 2 Corinthians 5:17)

4. Mankind

We believe that Adam was created after the Divine image of God, sinless and His kind was perfect. We also believe that Adam disobeyed the divine command and by so doing, fell from his state of innocence and purity and that this involves all his posterity as a consequence of the fall.

(Genesis 1:26, 2:1-17, 3:1-8, Romans 3:10)

We therefore believe that all men and women since Adam are born in sin and that this is incurable by human means. We further believe that only through faith in the Saviour Jesus Christ can mankind be saved from hell and eternal damnation.

(Genesis 3:15, Romans 5:1-18, Philippians 3:9, Galatians 2:16)

5. Saviour

We believe in the virgin birth of Christ. We further believe that He is Lord and the ONLY Saviour of mankind's soul according to Holy Scripture.

(Matthew 1:23, Romans 1:2, Galatians 4:4, Hebrews 1)

6. The Mediator

We believe that there is only one God and mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.

(1 Timothy 2:5)

7. The coming King

We believe in the second and personal coming of the Lord Jesus Christ as taught in Holy Scripture.

8. The Healer

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has the power to heal divinely today. We acknowledge the right of any individual to seek and obtain if required, medical attention in keeping with scriptural and moral principles and those recognised by the medical profession.

9. The Gifts

We believe that the Church should claim and manifest the gifts of the Spirit as taught in the Holy Bible. We also believe that the Lord Jesus has not rescinded these gifts and that they will remain with the Church until His second coming.

(1 Corinthians 12, 13 and 14)

10. The Ministry

We believe that God has given to His Church, ministries for the building up of the faith as those found in the Bible. We also believe that these ministries will remain with the Church until His second coming.

(1 Corinthians 12:28)

11. The Fruit

We believe that everyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour should produce the fruit of the Spirit as taught in Galatians 5:21-26. We further believe that a Holy life will be a necessary effect of true faith and that good works are the certain fruits of a vital union to Christ.

(Ephesians 4:24, Romans 6:10,11)

12. The Baptiser

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only Baptiser in the Holy Spirit.  We further believe in the laying on of hands for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, but this Baptism is from God and not from man. We further believe that this is generally accompanied by signs. Signs however are not necessary evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

13. The Future State

We believe that all true believers in Christ go to heaven and that eternal punishment awaits those who reject Christ.

(Luke 23:43, Philippians 1:23, 2 Corinthians 5:8, 1 Thessalonians 4:14)

14. The Devil

We believe that there is a person called Lucifer who is known as the devil. He seeks worship for himself and his avowed intention is the deception and destruction of mankind. He is the accuser of the brethren and though he is powerful he is not omnipresent. He has at his command hosts of demons who along with himself will be cast into hell after the last judgement.

15. The Priesthood

We believe in the priesthood of all believers and that all believers have equal and direct access to the throne of God.

16. Demonology

We believe that a real understanding of salvation and a real understanding of new birth, necessitates the rejection of the belief that a surrendered born-again believer can be possessed, partly possessed or demonized in any manner. We further believe that 1 John 4:1 demonstrates that 'He that is in us, is greater than he that is in the world.' We believe therefore a demon cannot co-reside with the Holy Spirit in a surrendered believer, in one of God's Holy Temples. We do however assert that through deliberate sin we can come under the influence of Satan or one of his demons.

(Acts  5)

17. The Ordinances

a) We believe in the partaking of Bread and Wine (or a substitute) in memory of the Lord's death and atonement for our sins.

b) We believe in Baptism by immersion for believers.

c) We believe in the laying on of hands.

d) We also believe in the anointing of the sick with oil.

We further attest that although these ordinances are important as a means of obtaining grace, they cannot in themselves give salvation which is only obtained by real faith in Christ Jesus.

18. The Eternal Security of Believers

We believe in the eternal security of those that accept in faith the Lord Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Saviour.
